I really liked this story about second chances, and the long-term effects of war on the human condition. Written by a man who served three tours of duty in the Vietnamese conflict, the flavor of this novel is pure and valid. It is obvious he walks the walk and certainly talks the talk- from both sides of the issue.
Well written, beautifully edited… 5 stars!

Takes you to a new plane of thought. I liked the concept, and felt uncomfortable when the character felt uncomfortable.
I think this story has something for everyone
Great love story with an interesting twist.
For the Christian Romantics this is well worth reading. I couldn't put it down.
This novel is so good you won't be able to put it down. The detail of both the sixties and present day is wonderful and Robert Vaughan has shared some of his own experience in showing us Viet Nam. Yes, this is a war novel and a romance and about life as a writer. It's also about the 60s college scene and the conflict between the protestors and the men who were proud to serve in Nam. The depth is wonderful and so is the humor. It's one you won't want to miss.
I couldn't stop reading the story. I had an out of body experience when I was a teenager so I could relate to the story line. The experience makes me think there is more to us than we presently know. Great story and we'll written. I was sad to see it end but the ending was terrific.
I've never been a fan of romantic literature but I love this book. There has never been an attraction more difficult to explain, and I love that the main characters are mature adults, with problems that are seldom addressed in novels. The suspense created while I waited for the truth to come out was almost unendurable, and I'd recommend this book to anyone who has ever had to try to explain an unexplainable happening. Great read and one you do not want to miss.
I got this book by accident. Clicked wrong button!! Glad I did it was really a great read. After reading it I looked at the authors other books but nothing interred me. The thing I liked about it was the near death and what that caused. Read it in one sitting. Buy it read it enjoy it
This may be the best romance book I've ever read. It tugs at the heart strings in many different ways. The boys who fought and died in Vietnam (and other wars) and who are, accordingly, "forever young" break my heart whenever I think about them. You will think about them when you read this superb novel. RJB.
