Reading this book gave me new view points to ponder and helped strengthen my faith. It is one that I will return to on a regular basis as my understanding grows.

Why are there 4 gospels? Why don't they tell the same stories? Why do they tell the same stories differently? Do they contradict each other? This book answers those questions. It tells us why Matthew gives us the genealogy of Christ. It tells us why Mark is a book of action. We are going through this book in our Sunday school class. It has fostered some interesting discussions. It has given me a greater appreciation of Christ, my Savior.
I always enjoy Pink's work but this book was of particular value. I read it in conjunction with looking at the Gospel harmony view and it provided much so much insight into why the Gospels present the stories from different perspectives. It really enhanced my study of the Gospels.
The book begins with a discussion pertinent to the topic and then breaks down each of the four gospels and explains them in detail, ending in the needed conclusion of the discussion. The edition has a navigable table of contents and there weren't an outrageous number of spelling errors which always makes me feel the people who published it should be commended. The actual material is always worth reading because of how Pink discusses the material with an ability to teach well and with depth.
This is a study of both the apparent structure of the gospels of the New Testament and of the grand "story" back of them. Obviously I am a follower of Jesus Christ as God and man, and from that perspective I offer that this book is good for the heart of those God leads to ask such questions as the title implies.
